Our Profile

Asian Hybrid Seed Technologies, Inc. (AHSTI) located in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon is a 100% Filipino-owned corporation. AHSTI aims to create new superior hybrid corn genotypes that are custom-made for tropical agricultural conditions in the Philippines and other tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. The research activities began in 1989 and later expanded to include production, marketing and distribution of superior hybrid corn seeds.

In 2002, production and seed processing facilities were established in Jember, East Java Indonesia. AHSTI is undeniably proud of its capacity to provide low-cost seeds of high yielding corn varieties to growers in the Philippines and other parts of the world.

Our Research Activities

Our research facilities conduct in-depth studies on corn with the aim to further produce a far more superior variety that could resist and eventually overcome the uncertainties of a growing corn. To achieve this, the company relies on a wide range of germplash sourcs with the eidest adaptation from Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the tropical countries of Central and South America. This collection is by far the largest and most varied among Filipino seed companies.

In the Philippines, AHSTI owns two corn research companies: Genetics Systems, Inc. (GSI) in Bukidnon and Isabela and Tropical Seed Genetics, Inc. (TSG) in General Santos and Banga, South Cotabato. The combined 75 hectares of land in these locations is dedicated by AHSTI for further research and corn breeding.

Our Production Facilities

To satisfy the increasing demand for hybrid corn, AHSTI has planted hybrid corn for further hybrid corn seed production on hundreds of hectares of fertile soils in Bukidnon, Davao City and South Cotabato where environmental conditions are most favorable for hybrid corn seed production.

The production scheme includes input-financing and closely supervised farm operations of contract growers who work side by side with the company to produce only the best quality hybrid corn seed.
